Third Grade Teacher

ThirdMs. Cathy Showalter has lived in Lancaster all but the first six years of her life. She is a graduate of St. Anne School, Lancaster Catholic High School, and Catawba College. She is fully certified in Elementary Education (K-6) and has a degree in Secondary English. She has an Experienced Catechetical Certification from the Diocese of Harrisburg and continues to take religious education courses each year.
Ms. Showalter lives in Manheim Township, is a member of St. Anne Church and has served on the Parish Council. Her son, Adam graduated from St. Anne School and Lancaster Catholic High School.
She began working at St. Anne School in the fall of 1991 as an aide to first through fifth grades and taught religion to kindergarten. In 1994, she became a full-time teacher, teaching third, fourth, and fifth grades.

Mission Statement:
"I believe that Catholic education is a very important gift that we give to our children, and that it is my duty as a Catholic educator to nurture both the spirit as well as the mind. I try to always teach with both passion and compassion keeping each child’s needs foremost in my daily thoughts and plans. As witnesses to Christ we are all asked to live our faith and to be Christ-like examples to our students both inside and outside of the classroom."

 

Fourth Grade Teacher

FourthMs. Paula Brewer

Catholic schools are a very special place for our children to grow and learn. This is my seventh year teaching at St. Anne School. Ms. Paula Brewer has a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters in Reading. She has also recieved additional training in RTI - Response to Intervention. She enjoys spending time with her children, scrapbooking and reading a good book!

Mission Statement:
“Then after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.”  (Luke 2:46)  As a Catholic classroom family, we are called to follow Jesus by example in our everyday lives.

 

Fifth Grade Teacher

FifthMrs. Terri Laforest graduated from Longwood College in Virginia with a BS in Elementary Education with a specialization for grades 4-7. She taught for 7 years in a public school in Virginia and has been at Saint Anne's for 29 years; 15 of them teaching 5th grade, 2 years teaching 4th grade, and 12 years teaching grades 6-8 Math. She and her husband Gabe live in Lancaster and have two children, Jennifer and Kristen. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her infant grandson.

Mission Statement:
“My fifth grade classroom will be a faith-filled educational community dedicated to the spiritual growth and academic success of each student. It is my belief that each child has the ability to develop his/her God given talents. I will provide an environment of hope, love, and discipline that will prepare the children to become responsible, respectful students who are witnesses to Christ. They will be encouraged to profess their faith often and live as loving Christians."
